The Far Moor Taproom
& Desi Kitchen

Internal concept review · November 2026
A proposed relaunch at The Rafiya Hotel, Redditch. Putting the existing restaurant and kitchen to work across breakfast, lunch, evening dining and shift meals.
Proposal, not a live trading offer. Prices, hours, financial forecasts and launch dates remain subject to validation.
01 · Investment rationale
The supplied plan describes a 60-cover restaurant, bar and fitted commercial kitchen. The photos show the starting point; a condition survey must establish what can be reused.
Hotel breakfast, Moons Moat lunches, evening dining and employer shift meals could spread use of the same kitchen across the day.
Wings, naan-pizzas and sizzlers support a desi taproom proposition rather than the previous curry-house model. Local demand and competitor gaps still need testing.
Viability is conditional—not yet demonstrated.
The restaurant-only base case in the relaunch plan is slightly loss-making. The stronger combined hotel forecast depends on placeholder room performance and shift-meal volumes. The decision is whether a controlled launch can prove the demand and contribution before committing to scale.
The proposed experience · concept film
Arrival, dining, sizzling dishes served to tables, food preparation and collection beside the bar—followed by the financial deck’s hotel earnings, combined forecasts, debt, shift meals, funding and cash risks. The source gives hotel EBITDA, not room revenue. AI-generated spatial interpretation, not a measured reconstruction or an approved seating, kitchen or collection layout.
2-minute 26.5-second review draft: moving restaurant scenes, menu holds and animated financial charts. Table-served sizzlers appear at 0:26; the hotel and combined financial chapter begins at 0:56.5. Financial figures are sourced forecasts with unverified assumptions, not trading evidence. Some small generated signs remain distorted. Sizzle and soundtrack levels were measured, but need a listening check on speakers. Includes a new instrumental music bed.

The Hero Box and naan-pizza packaging concepts. Food styling, portions and printed packaging remain subject to product trials.

A separate handover point on the right-hand side, keeping the main bar service distinct. Space, queues and guest access need on-site validation.
02 · Proposed transformation
AI-edited concepts based on the supplied photographs. They show a design direction, not completed works, costed specifications or an approved layout.

Far Moor signage, charcoal entrance detailing and planting; hotel identity retained. Signage consent and accessibility require review.

Retain the bar footprint; refresh the frontage, backbar and lighting.

A consistent dining setting, with tables, banquette seating and clear circulation.

The same proposed finishes viewed from the opposite end of the room.

A visual organisation concept. Equipment, extraction and safe working clearances need professional confirmation.
Seating study · supplied floor plan
The supplied plan identifies the kitchen, bar, dining room and toilets, but has no readable dimensions or scale. This furniture-count study tests 70 indoor seats; it does not establish that they fit.
60 seats for groups and families.
10 seats for couples and hotel guests. No garden seats or bar stools counted.
A target, not an approved maximum. Keep the source plan’s 60-cover assumption in the financial model until measured.
Before ordering furniture, obtain the full-size scaled plan or internal room measurements, furniture dimensions and door positions. Check chair pull-back, step-free access, bar service, toilet access and fire escape with the relevant professionals. If 70 crowds those routes, reduce the seat count rather than squeezing the furniture.
Kitchen build-out · 14 new reference photos
The complete photo set gives clearer views of the actual cooking line, cold storage and pass. These edited workstation studies show a practical organisation proposal—not completed works, an installation specification or a measured floor plan.

AI-edited proposal
K07–K09 · grill / press, pressure fryer, open fryer
Clear the central island for finishing cooked orders. Keep raw poultry preparation elsewhere. Confirm the grill surface, fryer procedures and complete heat-safe sizzler inserts and bases before trials.

AI-edited proposal
K11–K12 · conveyor oven & refrigerated prep counter
Topping counter → commissioned oven → finished-food pass. Portion toppings under validated temperature controls. Measure oven loading, discharge and cleaning access; do not widen the aisle on the strength of this image.

AI-edited proposal
K14–K16 / K22 · heated pass, hot cupboard, microwave & Gram fridge
Separate hot plating from a cool-side packing surface. Check order, allergens, sauces and seal before the bar-side handover. Packaging must remain away from heaters and the adjacent tandoor; final safe packing location needs measurement.
Image editing can alter small appliance details and clearances. Ingredients and packaging shown are illustrative; they do not demonstrate temperature control or a safe permanent location. Original photographs govern the equipment survey.
Sequence only—not spatial adjacency. A measured plan must establish doors, aisles, separate work areas and the actual route to the bar.
01 →
Check, label and date deliveries. Verify chilled storage; separate raw and ready-to-eat stock.
02 →
Raw poultry, ready-to-eat garnish and dough need separate work areas or documented time separation and sanitation.
03 →
Tandoor / range · wings / fries · naan-pizza · combi batches. Allocate breakfast equipment before the hotel peak.
04 →
Clean finishing surface; recipe and allergen checks. Validate hot holding, safe sizzler handling and order completeness.
05 →
Dine-in → tables / hotel breakfast. Boxed orders → designated packing → collection beside the bar. No courier access to the kitchen.
The inventory does not confirm a commercial dishwasher or glasswasher, wash-cycle capacity, hot-water supply or a complete sanitising process. Sink count alone does not establish wash-up capacity. Confirm the equipment and dirty-return route before approving service; keep the hand basin dedicated and unobstructed.
Survey the tandoor, range, combi, grill / press, fryers, conveyor oven, cold room, prep counter and pass. Photograph rating plates and test each unit before deciding what can be reused.
Confirm warewashing, raw-prep separation, safe packing space, storage, heat-safe sizzler inserts/bases and breakfast provision. Obtain condition-based repair or replacement quotes; no build-out budget is verified here.
Time hotel breakfast, restaurant cooking and collection together. Measure station bottlenecks, staffing, clean/dirty flow and recovery between day-parts; enter measured results in the capacity calculator.

The pitch models break-even at 31 orders per night, against a base estimate of 12. At 12 orders, the estimated loss is £2.8k a month. A £25 night order contributes about £4.93 after the stated variable costs.
Pitch page 12. The documents use different overnight measurement windows; reconcile these before setting the operating target.
The pitch estimates £3.87 contribution per £8.95 meal, before the monthly driver/packer cost. Modelled volumes of 80, 120 and 150 meals per working day in 2027–29 are placeholders, not signed contracts.
Pitch page 13. Validate employer interest, delivery costs and production capacity.
The supplied pitch states £150,000 equity in December 2026 and proposes a £900,000 interest-only refinance in April 2027 at about 8%. The forecast below combines hotel, restaurant and shift meals; it is not restaurant profit or lender approval.
